Modern office koi ponds add sophistication, tranquility, and visual impact to commercial environments. Isivande recently completed two bespoke ponds inside an office park in Bryanston, designed to complement the building’s contemporary architecture. These installations demonstrate how carefully planned water features can enhance indoor spaces while creating calm, refined focal points for staff and visitors alike.
Design Concept Behind Modern Office Koi Ponds
These modern office koi ponds use a still-water design. Therefore, no waterfalls or falling water disturb the surface. This approach ensures clear, uninterrupted views into the ponds. Each installation includes a main pond that overflows into a separate chamber. From there, water pumps back into the main pond through a large pump station. Notably, the pump station sits beneath a decked area measuring 6 m × 2 m × 1.5 m.
Additionally, each main pond includes four bottom drains. These drains allow efficient debris removal during maintenance. Importantly, operators can run the main pond independently when needed. However, proper maintenance of the chamber section remains essential. A six-meter granite overrun, meanwhile, generates oxygen naturally. This process supports koi health without disturbing the still-water appearance.
Filtration, Finishes, and Location
Each pump station contains two 1.1 kW pumps. Furthermore, it includes four custom-built five-bag koi filters by Isivande. In addition, the system features four 50-litre bio filters and four 55-watt UV clarifiers. Because of the dual-pump setup, the pond continues operating even if one pump fails.
Finally, Isivande finished the ponds with 600 mm black square tiles and aluminum corner trims. Charcoal marblite lines the interior, ensuring durability and a refined look. Located in a central atrium, the ponds remain visible from ground and first-floor offices. Consequently, these koi ponds enhance the workspace atmosphere. Overall, the project proves how modern office koi ponds elevate corporate interiors with style and reliability.
